Steel wool is made utilizing oil during the manufacturing process, and it always retains some of that oil, which makes it unsuitable for some applications and a possible fire hazard in some shops where sparking may occur.

Now Briwax has solved that problem with Briwax® 100% Oil Free Steel Wool that is manufactured without using any oil through a revolutionary process guaranteeing it is truly oil free. This makes it ideal for paint prep work, removing paint, varnish and rust, as well as use with chemical strippers.

This three-grade assortment pack comes with 20gms each of #000, #0 and #3. This assortment is ideal for stripping and smoothing, right up through polishing. If you don’t need a lot, but just a little, the Assortment Pack is perfect for all your cleaning and surface preparation needs.

Use a sequence of grades: Always start with a course grade and progress to a medium or fine grade.

Always sand in the direction of the grain: use long, smooth strokes. Working across the grain will scratch the surface.
